Youth Leadership and Advocacy
Learn to Grow, Inc. has formed a Parent Team and a Youth Team comprised of communities members who have a vested interest in the improvement of the community by participating in alcohol and tobacco prevention activities. The Youth Team created the slogan “The Two Worse Kings… Smoking and Drinking” as their motto. This advocacy group named H.E.A.R.T to Help is very active year-round assisting the Organization in facilitating activities geared toward community-level change regarding youth alcohol and tobacco use and abuse. In July 2013 the leaders of this group were selected as the only Youth from the state of Georgia to travel to Washington D.C. for Tobacco advocacy training. The youth were able to meet with renowned Atlanta Congressmen Dem. John Lewis and discussed tobacco prevention in Georgia.
